Currently taking a walk along the coast and going through my annual Clarity listen as a tribute to 12.23.95 and a light snow just began to fall. Would be hard to convince me there’s a better album to listen to during a snowfall…. Love this album forever.
Man. I was so emotionally prepared for them pushing new music this year. It makes perfect business sense for them to go for the BA anniversary stuff instead, but I highly doubt they’ll do both. Sigh.
My delusion is that they do the BA anniversary stuff in the summer and use that momentum to begin a rollout of new music in the fall. Maybe not an album release until next year, but hopefully a single this year at least.
I feel you but the first part of the tweet literally hints at new music lol. I have faith they'll do both
Blowing it out with a BA anniversary celebration is a great way to re-introduce the band to casual fans to then follow up with a new album once they have the added attention would be really effective.
Friday is always an odd day for tour announcements, anyway. Guessing we get something on Tuesday... And fully agreed with what @chewbacca110 said above. Doing a Bleed American anniversary tour run in the spring/summer would get the eyeballs on them. And heck, if they have an album release planned for later in the year but are able to get a single out? Playing that new song on that the BA tour would be a nice way to prime the pump too! (Working under the assumption that they would work in a few other songs beyond the album itself.)
Considering they've been consistently packing out 2000ish cap venues even in a B-market like Birmingham for as long as I can remember, which makes me assume they do even better in larger cities, I don't necessarily see there being a need to do a BA run to get eyes "back" on them. I'd so much rather them put out new music or do a deep cuts tour, but I'm also not their business manager. I would just think they would be so sick of playing those songs. They're a top 5 all-time band for me, and I'd even be torn about going to the show, and that sucks to say.
Agree very much with this. They already play what most people would want to hear from BA each show...and occasionally throw in another song or two from it. I hope they don't make 2026 just a BA anniversary shows year.
I likely shared this in the thread before but I went to their Lolla After Show at the Metro in 2021. 4-5 songs in Jim goes "So 20 years ago we released an album called Bleed American. We're going to play all of it for you right now." Complete surprise as it was not advertised as an album play show and the place freaked out in the best way. Truly one of my greatest "HOLY SHIT" concert moments I've ever had.
