Rushmore: Polaris A Praise Chorus Just Tonight Kill Dammit. APC/Your House choice was hard. So was Kill/23.
Futures, Bleed American, Clarity, Integrity Blues, Invented, Surviving, Damage Chase This Light, Static Prevails is my best to worst order. Static Prevails is definitely great but the rawness of it is sometimes a bit much for me.
90s emo is right in my wheelhouse, cuts and bruises and all, so Static Prevails is right in the same ballpark as Penfold and Mineral's albums, for example.
Every time I spin Bleed American and get to “hear you me” and think about the coin flip of the single choices and what that song with a proper push could have done for that album and their career. It would have been absolutely fucking unstoppable.
I specifically listened to Through the other night on the drive home from work. Ended up being Through/IB/Pol Roger. What a run of songs. Took me back to fall 2016.
1. Futures 2. Bleed American 3. Invented 4. Integrity Blues 5. Surviving 6. Clarity 7. Chase This Light
I forgot about that! I dunno....I think the singles were all the right choice. There was an over supply of rock ballads at the time trying to cross over to Top 40/Hot AC radio so glad they could carve out attention on modern rock radio in between nu metal and the garage rock revival stuff.
I remember being bummed that "My Enemy" didn't make the cut for Integrity Blues back around when it came out, and then reading Jim saying somewhere that they were trying to decide between "My Enemy" and "Through" for that slot on the album and just thinking 'well played, Jimmy Eat World' they def made the right call there
Mt Rushmore -For Me This Is Heaven -Kill -Polaris -23 Alt timeline where there is a 5th head -Disintegration
Oh wow. Just listened to My Enemy again prob since 2016 and damn its kind of aggressive! Yeah that wouldn't have worked in that spot on the album or the album at all, really.
Rushmore list is too damn hard. I’ll do a title track rank though! 1. Futures 2. Bleed American 3. Surviving 4. Clarity 5. Chase This Light 6. Integrity Blues 7. Invented
is everyone purposely leaving "Damage" out of the title track rankings??? it's tied with "Futures" for my fave
title track ranking Clarity Futures Invented Bleed American Damage Integrity Blues Surviving Chase This Light you know the discog is popping when even sorting the top 4 of this list was agonizing
