Here it Goes is a fine song - but the 'hey hey hey' section is the cheesiest thing the band ever did and almost derails it
I actually had a touch of disappointment when they didn't play Big Casino when I saw them a few years ago. Seemed like they were playing it every other night, and mine happened to be one where it was left off. Good thing they are such a treat to see live regardless!
Futures Open Bar Reception Polaris Damage Dizzy (Acoustic) I looked back over their albums and really tried not to just pick all my favorite b-sides for this - I actually tried to make this without any b-sides at all, but failed miserably
Open Bar Reception is one of those songs that's so good I can't fucking believe it was left off an album. Genuinely in the conversation as Jimmy's best song and still didn't make it onto CTL. Probably because the opening line shares DNA with Always Be.
might be my favorite from them. It's definitely the one I listen to the most. I always throw it on when I'm working out.
i cant do a mt rushmore. i keep feeling bad i’m leaving off songs after i type my 4th one and i end up having to restart the whole thing over again
I’ve been doing a full discography run through of Jimmy. I was honestly never a die-hard fan growing up so a lot of this has been pretty new to me or feels like new again. I hadn’t listened to Futures in full in over a decade so even that felt like a brand new experience to me. I can’t believe I wasn’t obsessed with this album growing up. I’m on Integrity Blues right now. This one is great. Easily their best post-Futures work.
@Jason Tate I want to make a motion to have all my man standing in court meme likes count as one post so I can contend for most liked post this week. thank you for your time and service
A Praise Chorus is a perfect song. And maybe the best song ever about how it feels to love music. I remember seeing the video on MTV2 as a kid and thinking “this song is for me.” And it makes me feel how other people feel about The Middle, which I do like. (And it’s always fun to see people go off to it live.) I can’t seriously choose my Mt. Rushmore but my top two are Polaris and Just Watch The Fireworks. And I’d have no problem putting A Praise Chorus up there. But the 4th song is just an impossible decision. Hell, it was hard to narrow down a 23 song playlist I shared with a friend who was getting into the band.
