Mic City Sons should be obligatory listening for any Jimmy fan.

I know I'm super late to this and it's like sacrilege since they're my favorite band, but I think I finally get all the fuss about clarity

Also the version of sweetness on clarity expanded is cute and fun

I was right on time for Clarity. I listened to it at the same time as BA as The Middle video on MTV was my introduction to the band. I immediately got my hands on all I could. Which sounds like I was late, but since it and BA were at the same time for me, I feel it was like the latest I could be and not be late. If that makes sense.

Clarity is a better album experience than Bleed American, which has better singles. But Futures is the quintessential Jimmy Eat World for me.

Still have yet to get into Clarity unfortunately. Not that it's bad or anything. Just like many of their other albums more.

Futures is my favorite. Not sure it can be topped. But I’d love for them to do it.

I feel like Integrity Blues is the closest thing we will ever get to a Futures pt. II. Does anyone else feel a certain connectivity between those records?

Yep. Definitely. They feel like kindred souls.

Jimmy Eat World is incredibly coming to Italy for the first time in, like, 2008? I've seen Jim solo in 2015 but I've never seen the whole band. They're in a festival bill with Linkin Park and Spiritbox, it's a 3-hour-drive in a bloody June Tuesday but I might actually consider going.

Tuesday shows, no matter what country you live in, are rough.

They're a pain in the ass but I've found with time that distance is only emotional and Jimmy Eat World is one of those bands that are worth the effort, at least for me.

Any word from the guys or community about new music at all?

Just had our second baby and I got a new position at work that’s going to require a lot of rebuilding. So many emotions running rapid and I could really use some new Jimmy Eat World in my life right now haha.

There was an interview a few months ago with Jim and he said they were planning to work on a new album. God I need new music from them in my life.
