okay but all jokes aside, next time someone is bored, what is your best idea of a b-side/rarity tracklisting if they did put them out as an album? and then post a link where I can download it in high quality please thanks
As someone who does not love Futures in its entirety despite it being one of the most important albums in my lifetime, I think Craig's playlist that he posted with Jen and the other b-sides plus the Stay On My Side Tonight EP songs is absolutely fascinating
I keep bringing up such a topic in hopes that it will manifest into reality. They've gotta be sitting on a treasure trove from their 25+ years of recordings.
really liked this interview. i feel like i mostly see zach being snarky on twitter, so this was a nice change of pace. also great to hear confirmation of a new record coming.
They wanted to take their time to want to make sure what they record is worthy of joining their catalog. He mentioned they felt like they were on "auto-pilot" for Invented and Damage and felt that they had to release records just to release them.
If liberating themselves from the 3 year cycle results in an album that is worthy of being in their top 5 it’ll all have been very very very much worth it
It's funny to me that they felt like they were on autopilot with Damage. To me it feels like one of their more inspired records
We can just be thankful they were able to keep up that cycle for so long at the quality level they did. Bands like Jimmy don't owe us shit 30 years into their career, y'know?
Plus Something Loud and Place Your Debts fucking rule, give us an album on that level and take all the time you need, guys
RE: Something Loud - Would love a new album (duh) and also an acoustic version of the album. I absolutely love both versions of SL.
It's a testament to how amazing they are as songwriters that they can still churn out bangers like Something Loud without big cowriters this far into their career. Truly a different breed.
I like both. Surviving for me is the most “auto-pilot” sounding album. really, I think it just speaks to how well they can create, even on auto-pilot.
