Getting Clarity w/ Jimmy Eat World | The Danny Brown Show This is a *great* listen. Really gives some insight into the band's intentions going into the next album!
It was nice to hear them talk about seemingly being inspired to and currently working on a new album.
yeah I’ve heard countless horror stories of people getting “therapists” that are clearly like doing something else someone said their kids were in the background etc but more generally it is commodifying mental health treatment and turning it into gig work and overall devaluing the practice of therapy and giving way too many people a horrible experience and turning them off to therapy in general. plus this notion that everyone should have a therapist is extremely wrong and bad for society but that’s sort of another topic
Agreed 100%. Thanks for providing that perspective! BH is all over every other podcast I listen to, so I was curious about them.
Yeah it’s a bummer so many people use them as a sponsor but it’s just an instant turn off when I see it, I won’t stop watching anyone that uses them but it def leaves a bad taste in my mouth
I would say that this is the case with many providers for online mental health. My wife tried a few and they kept steering the conversation towards her having suicidal thoughts when all that she felt was just grievance for losing her mother. She gave up after 3 of them when she realized they didn't even listen to what she was saying and it felt like she was talking to an Xfinity rep who was reading off a script.
Damn, I love this band but I made a pact with myself to never go to that venue in Manchester again. It's so bad.
I'm going to the London show! Wonder if this will be a Futures anniversary show... The presale code was "FUTURES". Nothing else seems to point towards it other than it being 20 years since Futures was released.
