Guessing they do another single for the FOB tour, then an album in the fall around When We Were Young and whatever touring they do around that. I don't want to wait that long, but fall is peak Jimmy season.

 

I hope we don't have to wait this long, but I'm just gonna go ahead and pencil in Oct 18th for release date after that tweet they sent a couple months ago.

 

My 7 year old daughter was singing Sweetness in the bathtub over and over last night, specifically the “whoa-oh-oh’s.”

These truly are the brightest days.

 

Good news: After 4 years and probably 15 listens, this morning I threw on Surviving & I'm stoked to say it finally grabbed me & feels like a JEW album I knew this day would come eventually. I'm halfway through my 2nd consecutive listen & I think I'm gonna go for a 3rd

Bad news: That means I must be way sadder than I thought, fuck haha

 

Title track has some of my favorite Jim lyrics. I’ve thought about getting a tattoo of “never alone in pain” but that seems a little too dramatic for me haha.

 

That song means so, so much to me. I return to it often. Incredibly therapeutic.

 

After 3 times through Surviving I just decided to run through the discography again, & I love them more than I ever have. I love getting this feeling with this band, fuck. When I was listening to 12.23.95 I was thinking about how experimental that was 25 years ago & did some digging, & found this track by track breakdown for Clarity if anyone is interested! Kinda cool to find out Final Fantasy was an influence for 12.23.95, & that they almost lost this song

JEW did album anniversary tours before it was trendy.

 

Drove 10 hours to Chicago for the closest Clarity 10-year show to me, stood outside the Metro in 9 degree weather for over an hour before doors to get a good spot, and it will always stand as one of the best shows I've ever seen. I'll probably never do something like that for a show again, and I'm glad I did.
