man they played 23 like 5 songs in, I was NOT ready for that shit. got me all messed up 10 minutes into the show
shoebox production. Those songs with JMJ touch could be as good as any record in their catalog. But it still sounds like I’m listening to it standing outside my brothers bedroom door.
The time has come! Jimmy Eat Pod, at least the form it has taken since 2019, is coming to an "end." This weekend, we're recording our final song-focused episode. While we've mostly avoided posting about the pod here, we would love to include as many of the listeners and fans as possible in the last song-focused episode, so here we are posting about the pod. If you would like to leave a message we can play, please feel free to call and leave it at 484-J-EAT-POD (484-532-8763). It doesn't ring or go to an actual phone, just to a mailbox we have access to and can play back on the pod. If a phone call isn't your bag, you can always rate and review the show on iTunes, or even shoot an email to jimmyeatpod@gmail.com. We'd love to do a segment on the finale dedicated to the fanbase. We've had a blast doing the show these past few years and can't believe its initial goal is now in sight. We hope those of you that listened enjoyed an episode or two, and perhaps even learned a thing or two about the band along the way. We definitely came into this community as outsiders that were huge fans of the band, and the welcoming and caring spirit this fanbase has shown us when we do come and post something here is, in our experience, unparalleled. Our last episode (until more music gets released) is scheduled to go live on April 21st. Thanks for sharing this journey with us!
I agree the production sucks but the songs are there which was definitely lost on me when this came out.
The sound of Damage honestly doesn't bother me that much. I get being used to more sheen on their sound, but there's a more straight-to-tape feel on songs like "How'd You Have Me" and "You Were Good" that really works for those songs, IMO.
Damage is great. I don’t even notice the mixing anymore, but then again I usually listen to it on vinyl so maybe it sounds better there.
Been sick since Tuesday and JEW has been my saving grace by bringing comfort to my achy, miserable, time in bed.
Saw them support My Chem on Sunday. Overqualified to be a support band. Bloody hell they were good. Just a shame most of the crowd were a bit nonplussed.
I'm a bit bummed the last time I saw them was a co-headline and now it will be again. Just cause they played fantastically but the crowd energy wasn't there cause lots of people weren't there for them. It is gonna be my friends first time seeing them. She is an extremely casual fan and has been hearing me talk up their live shows for years so I'm gonna need the crowd to bring it because I know she'd love it
I get the financial reasons for doing a co-headline tour again but I’d really love to see a headlining set from them…
Jimmy hasn’t played a headliner set in Florida/central Florida since like 2017. Only festival shows. So obnoxious. I am not a fan of festivals, generally speaking. I’d be saying a lot to see a couple bands play short sets with tons of people who don’t care for them. Just doesn’t appeal to me at all. Stuff like When We Were Young would be sick, otherwise, I’m not going to a festival.
I think you’ll have more Jimmy fans at this one. I’d also expect each to do 12-15 so gs. Not many less than a solo show
3-5 extra songs beyond their standard 14-15 co-headlining set means potential for some sweet deep cuts.
JEW is currently playing 15 an an opener for MCR. My guess is they’ll each do 15-17 songs. 75 min each.
funny thing happened yesterday: a year ago i commented on a JEW post about their live show in the caverns, and one person reacted to it. i don’t wanna read to much into it, but a live jimmy album would be damn good right about now.
