oh thanks, yes, it's 1AM here in Poland and it's here on Spotify! Can't believe I almost broke the waiting and googled for it an hour ago ;d
Love it so much! Great harmonies, I'm so on board with the effect on the verses, it already sounds like one of the best Jimmy Eat World tracks after just one listen!
I heard a short clip and can already tell I'm going to love this song. Selfishly I wish this was part of a fall LP that I would be playing on repeat. Singles just kinda get lost in the library for me.
this is most definitely going on the 'jimmy night driving' playlist with Be Sensible, Pol Roger, Delivery, A Sunday, uhhh Night Drive
Both Place Your Debts and Something Loud are awesome and show the different sides of Jimmy. I too wish these were singles from an upcoming album. Such a great band it’s hard not to be greedy.
They're almost 30 years old as a quartet and still keep putting out songs this quality. This is incredible.
Yeah. These guys are doing it all wrong. They're not supposed to be this brilliant so deep into their career.
So in case anyone is interested, the UK music podcast That’s Not Metal did one of their epic, long specials on Jimmy Eat World over on their patreon. It’s about 9 hours, split into 3 parts, and delves into everything they have done. It’s really good and goes through the timeline of the history of the band, also spotlighting members of the band and what they bring. They also recently did a Weezer one which was hilarious. https://www.patreon.com/thatsnotmetal/posts
Love this. Jim’s blurb he wrote about it on Instagram makes me appreciate it all the more. Sounds thematically very similar to Something Loud. Looking fondly at the past but not living in it. Accepting the path you’ve taken. The consistency he has managed to maintain with the emotional resonance of his lyrics after all these years is stunning. Selfishly want a whole album exploring this more, but as many folks have already said, just grateful they’re still making great music at all.
