I’m in the process of making a major move/life change and this song couldn’t have come at a better time. I fucking love Jimmy Eat World.
Bands like Jimmy and Thrice have invested in having a recording space and production gear (amongst others). I’d think this could allow them make albums more affordable that bands who need to rent spaces that could be more expensive.
Took me several days to get through the discography, but thanks everyone for doing their rankings & pushing me to listen to everything again, I hadn't in quite a while. It was so hard to rank the albums in general, but I had no idea how hard it would be to pick 3 favorites from most of these records, what an awesome problem to have!! I think Clarity/BA/Futures might be interchangeable as #1 and would be different every time you asked me. Fuck, this entire list would be completely different if I do this again a year from now haha Clarity - A Sunday, Believe in What You Want, Just Watch the Fireworks Bleed American - Hear You Me, Authority Song, Sweetness Futures - Futures, Work, 23 Integrity Blues - Sure & Certain, You Are Free, Through Damage - I Will Steal You Back, Appreciation, Damage Chase This Light - Big Casino, Here It Goes, Dizzy Surviving - WAY better than it was last time I listened, it's finally starting to grow on me Surviving, One Mil, All the Way (Stay) Invented - Coffee & Cigarettes, Action Needs an Audience, Mixtape Static Prevails - Hadn't listened in maybe 4-5 years, the b-side of this record is so much better than I remember it being. Digits, World is Static, In the Same Room I don't post here too frequently, but I'm always lurking. I don't get to talk about JEW in depth to anyone in person, I'm yet to meet someone who can talk about them anywhere near as much as I want to, so thank you all for always being here & always talking about them
They absolutely could've been switched, it was very close. I debated over my top 3 for Clarity more than anything else on this list. The last thing I did before posting this was listen to Lucky Denver Mint, Just Watch the Fireworks, For Me This is Heaven, 12.23.95, & Blister once again to pick for what was #3. REALLY fucking hard to pick from that list haha. Blister was #4 today
Listening to the discography & doing this was really fun & challenging, I've already started doing the same for Paramore. 5 albums is so much less than 9
Just got out of the Luxembourg show…. aaaah they were so good!! They were on point, and the set list was top notch. I mean it was pretty much a greatest hits, except i was surprised to hear 23!! It was an experience in itself, and I’d also add Blister and 555 as the highlights. From all the shows I’ve been to, they probably had the cleanest live sound as well. I have a pic of the merch if that interests anyone attending this tour, but let’s drive home first!
