Integrity Blues is tied with Bleed American at #3 on my JEW album rankings. I won’t stand for any IB slander.
Oddly my two least favorite songs off IB (Get Right, Pass The Baby) were setlist staples during that era.
My least favorites from that record, too. The show I saw on that tour was the best I've ever seen them, but I would have happily traded those two for "Pol Roger" and "Through." I don't think they've ever played "Pol Roger" live, and that's a damn shame!
Listening back to the 2010s albums this weekend, because it's been awhile on most of them. I still really love Surviving. I get why some folks might see it as being a little safe or a little slight, but I just think it's a fucking blast.
Yeah, me too. I really adored Integrity Blues when it came out, but I've cooled on it a little bit over the years. Surviving has held up better for me on my catalog run-through this weekend.
Whilst I respect your guys choices, I'm strictly Team IB baby! Definitely agree that Surviving has aged very well these last two years or so :)
The only Jimmy albums that I don’t LOVE overall is Invented and Static Prevails. Not sure Static will ever hit for me at this point, but I always include it in my discography run. Invented just never hit me, but I’m probably more positive on it than I was years ago. I do enjoy listening even if it’s not amazing for me.
Im genuinely struggling to really even come up with a list of rock bands outside of Foo Fighters. Does Imagine Dragons and 21 Pilots count?
Does Linkin Park count seeing as they aren't ~really active anymore? They have more monthly Spotify listeners than The Killers, TOP, or Foo Fighters
yes. coldplay is huge. the 1975. rhcp. there are definitely more than a handful but it's a short list.
They’re still huge because casual fans probably pretend that only Dookie and American Idiot exist. They probably don’t even know FOAM is a thing.
I didn't return to it much, but solely on the first listen I gave Pressure Machine an overwhelmingly positive review.
To preface this, I never discovered JEW till the end of the Bleed American era/beginning of Futures era, so that is why Clarity is lower on my list. Futures/Stay On My Side Tonight Chase This Light Surviving Bleed American Damage Integrity Blues Clarity Invented Static Prevails the last two I don't even really listen to... Invented was such a swing and a miss for me. bleed american and damage switch all the time but the rest is accurate.
fine i’ll bite: clarity futures stay on my side tonight chase this light bleed american integrity blues static prevails surviving invented damage jimmy eat world
Time for me to do a shuffle through the discography Futures Clarity Bleed American Chase This Light Integrity Blues Invented Surviving Damage Static Prevails
