Feels like a new record. The band and Justin made two really great sounding records that are opposite feels and stand out as a result. Advising it to my 2022 list now.
Listening to Chase This Light tonight... hoping for a 20 year full album tour of this. This, along with Taylor Swift's S/T were the first albums I bought after graduating from basic training and all I listened to for months while at my on the job training. So, so good. Can't wait for the OKC show in a couple weeks.
I like that they're working with the same producer from the past two albums and I still have no idea what direction to expect from them. I don't think that would be the case with many bands working with the same producer for a third time.
Lots of bands do multiple albums with the same band if it works. Yellowcard gives tons of credit to Neal Avron. Good producers find a way to get more out of the band/songs instead of just making replica albums.
Like clockwork, I get the same giddy excitement every three years for this band. I use their albums as cornerstones to reflect on how my life has changed in the time since I'd last heard new Jimmy Eat World! Can't wait for yet another solid-as-a-rock collection of songs.
I liked Surviving a lot when I did my discog run last year, but I wasn’t into it much at all when it came out.
