Based on the last page of thread this will come off as blasphemy, but I find a solid chunk of Clarity to be meh. Futures CTL Integrity Blues Bleed american Surviving/Invented Clarity Damage
BA, Futures, and CTL is my holy trinity for this band. It took YEARS for Clarity to click with me. Up until very recent years too. It's still pretty middle to bottom for me for that reason. I have a super soft spot for Invented. Integrity Blues is it's own living being. Such a beautiful and creative album. Its kind of like a super beautiful girl you're afraid to talk to because you feel like you don't deserve her attention since she's in her own league lol.
Lol. It doesnt help that I got into JEW with Bleed American and then Futures. I never even listed to Clarity until after I'd heard those two. Just never clicked outside of a few songs (Mint, Fireworks, Heaven, Sky Harbor).
Futures and Bleed American are pretty close to perfect for me All others are great but just have a few tracks that do nothing for me Gotta Be Somebody's Blues and Big Casino are big skips for me on CTL
It was definitely hearing “Kill” on One Tree Hill that did it for me. But I remember when they played “Pain” on Smallville. Miss those days of TV shows spending what had to be small fortunes to license a ton of awesome music every week.
I assume if the vinyl production market was in a far better state theyd have already launched pre orders. Its an obvious move to release these on vinyl, theyll move a ton of product, but by the time the production market is stable again, it just might not be as attractive a move. Its a real shame.
On the Futures 10 year anniversary tour, they played Futures and most of Stay on my Side Tonight. It was incredible. Then they played like a greatest hits set. Easily the best concert I've ever been to. Jimmy Eat World Concert Setlist at Marquee Theatre, Tempe on October 30, 2014 | setlist.fm
one thing I learned from my discog run earlier this year as that anyone (my past self included) who writes off Static Prevails, or skips it on their discog runs, is fucking up.
