IB is a better record than Invented but I’d rather they do Invented in a second set of Phoenix Sessions (along with Bleed American and Chase This Light)

 

IB is better but IV has higher highs

Although not gonna lie the more time passes the more I love Invented. I throw it on more often than IB these days.

Would love ANY more Sessions, but an IB would be extra special to me.

 

I’m more interested in new material honestly. Lockdown mate reduce the typical 3 year cycle. I’d love an album, EP, single, or Surviving Bsides. Concerts are cool and all, but it doesn’t even come close for me...new Jimmy all the way.

 

Can we pretend it’s been three years since Surviving so we get a new Jimmy Eat World album plz

 

Why not prepare a record ahead of “schedule”. They can produce their own demos and have spent time together in their own space. As long as the writing magic is there, why not?

 

for every "we're locked down, why hasn't [x] made a record yet??" question, the answer is pretty much always "records sell better when you can tour behind them"

You could write, record and produce it. Then decide to release it once it’s done or wait.

Also, the statement “records sell better when you can tour behind them” is a logical statement during pre COVID and lock downs. With artists not touring, recording could be a way to generate some income. Bands will likely tour the moment it’s safe and get profitable crowds...new album or not. Fans will want to get out of the house when safe.

There are several songs on IB that I'd put up against almost any other song in their discography

 

Pol Roger is their best closer not named 23. There, I fucking said it.

I think Dizzy is their best closer period. I do enjoy Pol Roger though.
