Very glad to see people loved the show in here. The closest I think anyone ever got was the opening track on Greatest Generation by the Wonder Years. LOVED that they opened that record with a slow jam. That's really the only TWY record I have connected with and it's definitely up there with my all time favorites. That opening track being similar to Table for Glasses totally helped set the tone for that record for me. Added this to my research links but what's the deal with this Ian Cohen guy? IDK anything about him?
There’s a random band called the Classic Crime I love a whole lot who put a slow, short song first on their album ‘The Silver Cord.’ Their frontman specifically said it was an homage to Jimmy Eat World and Clarity - they just wanted to be like them.
Please tell me to delete if this isn't allowed! But if anyone has rips of Futures or Clarity and wanna trade for The Starting Line and Dashboard's streams, shoot me a message.
One of my favourite Jimmy songs full stop. Fairly sure it came from the same melodic idea as Always Be and that's why it didn't make the cut. Opening lines share a vocal melody, just in different keys. Too on-the-nose to be a coincidence.
Very pleased to see all the love CTL is getting. I have lots of memories of singing along to Big Casino during pre-game parties in college. I always thought it was a great follow-up to Futures, kind of swung to the other end of the spectrum
The first concert I ever booked was Jimmy Eat World. It was a very long arduous process, and was the biggest thing I had accomplished at the time. The first song they played in sound check was Dizzy. Yeah, that song is always gonna be number one for me haha
This has always been my favorite of theirs. I think it brings together what they do best, and ends up being their biggest, most grandiose work. I don’t really have words for how much I love it.
