I am also curious that said, I would also take the 3eb debut over probably any record discussed these past few pages as well, tbh. although, I totally believe Jenkins is a shit dude.
big fan of both these songs, "No Never" has a top-tier bridge I do wish "How'd You Have Me" didn't sound like it was recorded on a potato though
Haha, I actually kind of like how it sounds. That guitar sound at the beginning sounds so much like "Pride" by U2. I also firmly believe that Damage sounds 10 times better and more natural on vinyl than in a digital format.
Tuned in a little late to the conversation but Jim said Eve 6 were right when they tweeted that Stephan Jenkins was such a douchebag it was almost altruistic lol. Apparently 3EB don't want bands backstage with them anymore after Zach called them out
I haven't heard it on vinyl, admittedly. the guitar sounds more or less alright; what really bothers me is Zach is giving the absolute performance of his life on that song, and the drum sound is awful
It is definitely not an optimal production style for that album or that song, haha. Part of the reason they need to do a version of it on a livestream.
if I’m gonna be critical, I would argue the drum sounds/tones on Damage are pretty fucking awesome, if anything the mix is really guitar-heavy and tends to drown out the drums at times and the frequencies emphasized in the overall mix/master lead to a loss of definition/clarity. I bet if you solo’d those drum takes they sound pretty undeniably great.
I don’t know who needs to hear this but the new Weezer album comes out the same day as the Futures stream.
Didn’t even bother to think of two others and just said it to cover myself incase I missed a glaring one. Yeah, it may be #1.
I really try not to post about the pod in here too often but today I’m very excited to share that we have @bradsonemanband on the pod for What I Would Say To You Now! Thanks to Brad for coming on.
