I should've specified that Folie and everything preceding it I'm a fan of. But My Best Theory sounds like the kind of FOB track they started to lose me on.

But hey, even if we disagree with this, we still have Clarity :)))

I could not love My Best Theory more and am so confused that someone would not like it.

Mind. Boggled.

 

It's funny that my least favorite JEW tracks wouldn't come from Clarity, since it's definitely my least favorite full length by them. But I think Clarity is very consistent and while I don't love it overall, there are really no songs I'd call stinkers.

 

I haven't listened to Clarity since I first checked it out in like February but I really disliked "Your New Aesthetic", "A Sunday" and "Blister".

 

Blister is one of my favorite songs on there haha

 

Clarity is the apex of humanities artistic endeavors

 

That was the one I liked the least. Really, really didn't like that song.

 

I kinda think Invented is a hugely improved Clarity

Pain is an amazing song

 

But they sound nothing alike

 

That was part of it. I definitely thought his vocals stood out and made his songs weaker but there was really nothing about that song I really enjoyed.

 

To me they're similar in that they generally emphasize the slower songs and more textural parts of their sound

Starting Bleed American and the title track is giving me big FOB vibes.

Oh no, Invented. Yeah I can't remember. I listened to Invented back in 2010, ha.

 

I don't. Buuuut bleed American and TTTYG are a couple records (along with Clarity and Deja) that I've been listening to longer than anything in my life, so those early JEW records don't sound like anything other than JEW in my ears

The Authority Song is something I can listen to no matter what/where.

 

Yeah, I think some of the later songs on BA like The Authority Song and Get It Faster are very underrated.
