Good bands make bad records all the time. Doesn’t mean they aren’t still good bands.

 

Imagine not thinking Integrity Blues is on par with what are commonly considered their best albums

i’ll do a discog run this week and give integrity blues another shot. it washed over me immediately after it finished and i think i’ve only gone back once or twice since. it had no staying power for me. surviving, in my memory of the last few albums, was quite a bit better

neither are as bad as damage. you can tell from that and the solo singles he put out jim was into singer songwriter kinda stuff and the band was fleshing out those kind of songs. when i want that kind of stuff they are not the first band i think of.

 

Your Weezer/JEW ranking was timely, since I spent all day yesterday listening to Weezer records. Raditude is a tough hang.

In no way would I ever compare Jimmy Eat World to Weezer BUT I discovered Jimmy Eat World back in 2001 as a direct result of Weezer...when they opened up for Weezer and Tenacious D.
