LOTS of baseball talk and what constitutes cancel culture. About Phoenix Sessions: they had already wrapped filming at the time of the podcast recording (not sure when that was though). Talking about first playing with Jim and Tom as kids and other early bands. Longevity with JEW and how they've made it work. What success with "The Middle" felt like. Figuring out drum tones on studio albums.
Just snagged the mask/3 ticket combo for the virtual shows. Little pricey but had a little extra in my check this week so, lol.
I’m still on the fence about getting a ticket to see Surviving. That album’s hit and miss for me. But I really wanna see what they do and what I might be able to expect for the other two albums. They filmed these sets a few weeks ago so the production quality must be pretty awesome, I’d assume.
As someone who was meant to see them last year and expects that show to be pushed to 2022 - I'll be amazed if I get to attend a single show in person this year - I'll take whatever I can get, personally.
I'm very excited for the Surviving one. I'm also excited for Clarity, an album I've never really connected with. I'm hoping this performance helps bring it to life a bit for me.
My wife cried at the trailer. Expecting more tears tonight. They're our collective favorite band, so it'll be cool.
The fact that I'm seeing one of my favourite bands play an album called Surviving at the end of one of the hardest weeks I've had in a long time couldn't be more perfect. I need this.
I know! I really shouldn't complain. So far the bands I've bought streams from have gone above and beyond on production... I haven't felt like I've been ripped off yet. Also, I'm just happy to support bands that can't tour right now anyway.
