Pain is my least favourite on either, didn't like it at all at first but it's growing on me. I think I like the idea behind Drugs or Me and Somebody's Blues more than I like the songs themselves. Both kind of just drag on for me get boring. Nothingwrong is probably quite low for me too but CTL is another favourite. I love 8 on both too though, especially Polaris.
Both songs are great, "Dizzy" just resonates more with me. Maybe when I've actually spent significant time with "23" though it'll blow me away like it does most of this thread, ha.
I'm not that crazy about "Big Casino" or "Futures" honestly. I think I do prefer the first few songs on CTL though.
On the Futures tour, the band gave 'Futures' a new introduction that was essentially Jim and a clean guitar singing the chorus slowly. Then the band kicked in and it was chill inducing. Ever since that show, I've always wanted that to be the way the album starts and I'm always disappointed that it doesn't lol.
Man, I love Big Casino. I'm not sure they have a better four or five song run in their catalog than the beginning of that album.
i think @FTank hates Sweetness because it has the word "Dizzy" in the last chorus, and he hates Dizzy! Boom! exposed.
Big Casino is the song I think of when I think about JEW. If I was going to show someone one song of the band to say 'this is what they do musically and lyrically' I'd probably pick that one. It isn't the best song they have, but I think it's the most JEW song that JEW does (if that makes any sense).
Hahaha, or maybe because the melody is grating and it totally breaks the mood between two really really good softer songs.
I used to think "Sweetness" started off with "if you're the sandman", then I thought it was "if you're this sad man".
thats incredible. i just sang this out loud to see what it felt like. it didnt feel good, but im 100% amused.
