when the demos for that album leaked, that was by far the song i was most excited for. NEver made any sense why they left it off the actual album
agreed - I am certain I read/heard in an interview they said it was either that or “Gotta Be Somebody’s Blues” because they didn’t want both. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Chase This Light and Futures had some killer b-sides.
At this point I firmly believe they could release an entire album of b-sides that would hold up as one of their best albums. Haha
i was either in third or fourth grade (i think third since i wouldve been 9) and i gave my friend a burnt copy of hybrid theory in exchange for a burnt copy of bleed american. 19 years later and they're my favorite band of all time by a long shot
Definitely looking into it but don’t know yet. Edit: that is to say there are two routes to go - the Seinfeld route, where they re-scan the dailies and re-assemble it, or the cheaper easier way of using plugins and just cleaning up the video; even utilizing some AI workflows.
I've ALWAYS been a Futures and Chase This Light freak, but I must say....over the past few years Bleed American has really hit me hard and means more to me than it ever has in it's 19 years of life. I was heading into 9th grade when this album dropped. I always liked it, my friends loved it, it was the first CD many of my friends bought with their own money, but it was no Take Off Your Pants and Jacket to me. I think I was just too immature for BA to really click before Futures came out (I had instant chemistry with Futures). But my goodness, every time I listen to BA now its like it just came out.
I wouldn’t be surprised if it was uprezzed and cleaned up from whatever master tape they had. It looks a little soft and smeary
We made a discography page for the pod. It’s a more interesting way to browse the archive and people, including us, seem to dig it. We’re gonna update this page with high res scans of all the album art eventually. For those that listen, thanks! Discography – Jimmy Eat Pod
The guitar and bass tones on the entirety of Bleed American work so well together. The palm muting section of "A Praise Chorus" comes to mind first.
