I like how varied everyone's picks are. Almost every album has been mentioned. Just shows how strong their discography is.
There are 3 tiers for me. Great albums: Futures = Damage > Clarity > Bleed American = Static Prevails Good albums: Integrity Blues Mixed/meh albums: Chase This Light > Jimmy Eat World (1994) > Invented I put Chase This Light above 1994 because Always Be is one of my favourite songs of theirs, and a couple others stand out like Big Casino and Carry You. But I actually quite enjoy 1994, it has a lot of energy about it and some good rhythms.
I don't want to jinx it... but surely they would want to have SOMETHING to talk about during their festival slot on Sunday. And why would they go all the way to London for a week+ for just one festival support slot (remember they unveiled Get Right on UK radio)? Fuck I just jinxed it.
I think I’d separate their catalogue post-Static into two tiers myself. Top tier would be Clarity, Futures, (SOMST), CTL, Integrity Blues. Second tier would be Bleed American, Invented, and Damage. All of which are still good, just not top-tier good.
noticed the thing they're playing at in the UK has fucking You Me at Six headlining over them and in what world does that make sense wish JEW were as big over here as they are in the States. FUCKING YOU ME AT SIX HEADLINING OVER JIMMY EAT WORLD, what the fuck
The advantage of them not being as big over here is that you can see them in 500-cap venues! Well, at least in Sweden. Not sure about the UK. Well, when they actually play here, that is. It was seven years between the last two times.
They were able to sell out a 1500-cap venue here when they played Dublin on the Integrity Blues tour so they're pretty popular in Ireland!
... and You Me At Six are bigger. They've headlined Wembley Arena. It's not that surprising to think they're playing above JEW.
had no idea they were that popular, I guess there really is an endless market for that sort of stuff. never got their appeal but that's just me.
Was listening to my One Tree Hill playlist and “23” came on. Then I had to to binge Futures. It’s still one of my top 5 favorite albums.
