Invented rules. Action Needs An Audience is the only song I don't super love and I always wished Jim sang on it instead.
On that note, does anyone have the live video of Jim singing Action Needs an Audience? Can't seem to find it in my iTunes. Edit: Found it
Jimmy Eat World isn't my favorite band (definitely in my top ten), but I don't know that there's any band I enjoy seeing live more than them. Their live show makes me so genuinely happy every single time, which is saying something, considering I'm by no means the happiest person. I'm super excited for the new record, whenever it comes.
Not that any of the bands many 5 star ballads would necessarily be strong singles, but tunes like Hear You Me, Kill, 23, Chase This Light, Dizzy...that side of the band feels like the heart and soul of the group and it's totally unrepresented in the single choices. For shame, major label machine
Every time I listen to "Be Sensible" it sounds to me like it could've / should've been a single, and it didn't even make the album! That one is kinda ballad-y. Same with "When I Want", although I think that one is a little less ballad-y.
They write a lot of great songs. They’ve kind of developed a formula for what variety of songs to put on an album to please the fan base. It’s been very successful so far. It’s also leads to great songs being excluded, which has meant some superior bsides.
Any idea what the movie was? Hear You Me has twice as many plays on Spotty as Bleed American and Pain dayumm
I really hope he's referring to A Cinderella Story. (The song has been featured in the films Out Cold, The Butterfly Effect, and A Cinderella Story, as well as the television series One Tree Hill.)
The best part about hear you me in a Cinderella story was that it's like a super sad and depressing song but was used in the romantic climax scene lmao
yes because its the only one of those movies ive seen lmao but now i wanna see the butterfly effect kind of
I think so too, especially Chase This Light. And Hear You Me is quite the sleeper hit. Kill is tough, its not the catchiest song ever but it’s maximum Jimmy Eat World in all the best ways. I don’t know if the lyrics coulda made an impression on radio tho, its a little too subtle
kill is the song that everyone who knows JEW beyond the singles loves. its like the next tier after the singles everyone knows.
every teen who knew of jimmy eat worlds existence in 2004-2005 used kill lyrics as away messages/xanga posts. i know i did about a million times.
