I was there, too. 2 rows in front of the soundboard. Jim's mic was also off for the whole first verse of Pain. I think they were trying to rush the changeover because they were 15 minutes behind schedule the entire day and there's a 10:00 curfew. But yeah, great show overall. I was able to get both TBS and JEW setlists and I even got Adam to sign it.
I don't know if they bust out "Lucky Denver Mint" often, but that was sick. Also I wasn't expecting "Authority Song".
I actually like Action Needs An Ambulance. Surprised it's the go to weakest song for a lot of people.
Favorite(s): A Praise Chorus and Kill (I won't choose and you can't make me!) Favorite B-Side: Open Bar Reception Least Favorite: Coffee and Cigarettes
Still have a soft spot for Invented because of 2010 and how I shoulda listened to the lessons in some of those lyrics.
I always forget how amazing the title track and “Mixtape” are until I listen to them. They made back-to-back albums that just don’t get enough love from the majority (Invented and Damage). But I know my Chorus peeps know wassup.
Favourite: 23 Favourite B-Side: Open Bar Reception / Splash, Turn, Twist Least favourite: Ugh this is hard. Can I just go with Shame?
So after not listening to it in years, I finally gave Damage a re-listen and it turns out Damage is a really great and solid JEW album! There isn't a song on it that I dislike. Might be my favorite of their last few. I need to give everything from CTL on another listen before I can make the claim that Damage is my favorite though. I'm not sure why I don't go back to these "newer" JEW albums as often as the early ones, but I'm kicking myself for it.
They haven’t made a bad album since Static, and even that album has some solid jams on it, making it mostly good! Consistently reliable, good old Jimmy.
