SOMST is my favorite JEW release, by just a hair over Futures. I got to see them play Disintegration many years ago, and it's still one of my all-time concert highlights.
Agreed! I also like “Jen” a lot more than most people, I think. I remember that song getting ripped apart on the old JEW message board.
My top 5 b-sides, not including SOMST: 1. When I Want 2. Open Bar Reception 3. Be Sensible 4. Shame 5. Sparkle honorable mention: Anais
I'll always love Jen since I listened to it so much from that leaked version of Futures in the summer of '04.
I fell back in love with this untitled track this past weekend. Falls very much in line with their future vibes.
Open Bar Reception and Be Sensible are two of my favorite JEW songs, b-side or otherwise. Jen is so bad. It really sounds like a joke.
Beautiful Is.... is somehow a really cool Jimmy bside. Other songs previously mentioned are for better, but I still think this song can kind of surround you.
if you widen the criteria to bonus tracks the best one is easily, EASILY the iTunes acoustic version of dizzy
Not really a b-side and I’m the only one on the planet who prefers it to the original, but this is so fuckin good to my ears
I loved the transition from how Jimmy Eat World doesn’t really have filler songs (because they don’t) into b-sides because they don’t even have filler b-sides. They’re that good. I am so goddamn thankful for Jimmy Eat World. We don’t deserve them.
does Polaris have the greatest bridge of any song in existence? trick question you literally can't tell me no
Listening to JEW on shuffle today. Spotify played "Please Say No", "23", and "Dizzy" back to back to back. It's really trying to make me cry at my desk, isn't it?
