Chase This light maybe does have a filler track or two in Electable and Feeling Lucky, but certainly not Here It Goes
I will not stand for any form of Electable slander. Feeling Lucky is as close to a filler track as CTL has but it still rips.
I'm not the biggest CTL fan but even I won't stand for this Here It Goes heresy Top 5 JEW track for me and should've been a certified mainstream hit
Feeling lucky is a banger. That and here it goes back to back is all kinds of good. I think the only downer/filler on that album is gotta be somebodys blues. Just sucks the momentum outta the album imo.
The primary reason I don't like the song is because the 'Hey Hey Hey Hey' middle section is horribly cringey and the worst thing the band has ever recorded IMO of course - Sorry I don't like every song by every good band, even the Beatles wrote some horrors
Splash turn and twist is as good as most of bleed american and one of the best jimmy eat world bsides
I was thinking about albums, specifically from our scene/community, that had a lot of great b-sides and just showed a band/artist really firing on all cylinders during a particular era. The Ugly Organ and Worship & Tribute came to mind immediately but so did Futures which has I think 5 or 6 b-sides that range from decent (Jen) to great (the others) and ofc SOMST BA and CTL are also in the discussion as far as stellar bsides go
be sensible disintegration splash, turn and twist my enemy no sensitivity hm: the most beautiful things i dont think ive heard all of them though
I never really thought of SOMST as b sides just cos it works so well as it's own thing but Closer is a top 10 Jimmy for me
agreed although both are incredible but "write my naaaame somewhere saaafe" + that guitar freakout? lord
