Blink should open for JEW who in turn open for Blink. Blink comes out and does a California/Deluxe/new songs set. JEW then comes out and does their thing for about an hour, and then Blink comes back for a greatest hits type set.
Now that it looks like Anberlin is most certainly back, them and JEW would be an incredible co-headline force.
Like just recently they've toured with the Hotelier, Rozwell Kid, Alex Lahey, AJJ, Microwave, and other bands. It's nice to see some smaller bands getting a chance to open for JEW and gain new fans. I don't want to go see JEW have to basically do a greatest hits set to appease the fans that are just really there to see that and Blink. Hell, even that Incubus tour was sweet. I just think there's so many more interesting tours for them to do rather than opening up for Blink.
I don't know about other cities, but when JEW comes to Cleveland/Columbus, they're playing 1,200 cap venues and...maybe selling them out? Blink can still fill up 10-12K venues, I'm guessing. Probably more. The last three times Blink came to Cleveland, they were playing to 18K venues.
yeah, that's why i'm saying that i can't see it as a realistic coheadliner. when i saw JEW this summer it was at the house of blues with rozwell kid (and it was awesome). that's a pretty far cry from playing blossom. pretty sure that the last time JEW played there was the coheadliner with incubus and that sold pretty poorly.
Yeah Blink played our amphitheater here in Nashville which is around 7k capacity and it sold out in a day or two. Now that I think about it JEW sold out the auditorium here too but that’s 2500 capacity
eh, i guess you're right. i seemed to remember it was a coheadliner, but i'm wrong. incubus: Incubus Setlist at Blossom Music Center, Cuyahoga Falls JEW: Jimmy Eat World Setlist at Blossom Music Center, Cuyahoga Falls i didn't go, but i heard it was pretty empty
Both JEW and Incubus were fucking awesome when they played Tinley Park. Despite having a slightly short set, JEW dug deep for some for some album cuts.
I think there's actually a lot of fanbase overlap, at least as far as their stuff from like 1999-2004 goes
I was gonna go to that Jew Incubus show despite not listening to Incubus but it was the same weekend as the eclipse where news reports were advising ppl to bring extra gas cans with them due to extremely high volumes of traffic and I noped right outta that
I OBVIOUSLY didn't go to Blossom...but I did think about going last minute. I figured leaving after JEW would have eliminated most - if not all of the traffic.
Yeah I had an ION a few years back that I received as a gift and the lid looked so similar that I thought maybe you were playing pricey records on one haha. Is that the Audiotechnica on Amazon with the automatic arm and everything? Couple of my buddies have it and love it.
It is! I got the one without Bluetooth but it works like a dream. I consulted some friends on its viability before dropping hints to my wife that it was what I wanted for Christmas lol
Blink and JEW would be dope. I loved the Incubus and JEW tour. JEW would totally open for Blink though. Which wouldn’t be a bad thing. JEW brought the crowd to life for Incubus and it’s kinda funny to think about considering there’s such a different fan dynamic.
