I only have access to youtube at work so I put on Invented via a playlist. Got to track 10 (I think?) only to hear You and I, which I had never heard before. Seems the account deleted action needs an audience and replaced it. Which works for me, cause that is probably the worst JEW song
Haha sorry, it's just desperately missing Jim Adkins On a side note, JEW's B-sides are so fucking good. Be Sensible perfectly encapsulates that mid-late 2000s vibe.
That's super funny because I wrestled with which album of theirs I wanted to put on and that was the one I chose and I had no idea why... The only album I do not own/have never given a chance is Static Prevails. Am I missing out?
i think static prevails is very worthwhile if you are a fan of ‘90s emo / alt rock. it doesn’t stand with their best work but i enjoy it when i’m in a like sunny day real estate mood etc
Yes, hearing how they evolve from Static to Singles to Clarity is a singular delight. Also, Static in itself has some top tier JEW, namely Digits and Anderson Mesa
Just about all of the songs on the singles compilation are amazing. “Opener” is a top 10 Jimmy Eat World song for me.
"What Would I Say To You Now" is one of my favorite Jimmy Eat World tracks. I did an acoustic cover of it for one of the old AP.net compilations that I think turned out pretty well for being done the night before it was due, haha.
im still getting familiar with the studio album process- how much of an influence on the sound does an engineer have? will we be able to hear the record and think, "oh yeah, thats dave schiffman"?
