updated album ranking because it’s changed for the first time in at least a few years futures integrity blues chase this light bleed american invented clarity damage static prevails
I have two extremes with a pair of JEW albums... I’ve listened to Futures countless times, and Damage zero times. Don’t shame me.
Futures Chase This Light Bleed American Integrity Blues Damage Clarity Invented But ranking them doesnt do them justice I feel, as even Invented is incredibly solid overall.
I haven’t intentionally avoided it. It just came out at a time when I kinda removed myself from most music that was coming out at that time. A lot of music from bands I loved started sounding so tired and like retreads or watered down versions of themselves, and I just started listening to a lot of podcasts or digging into the older albums in artists’ discographies. Then, when my pessimism ended, I kinda just left it behind and have never thought to go back and listen. I will remedy this offense soon.
After all these years, you'd think I've become accustomed to the three-year cycle of releases from Jimmy, but waiting another year for another album feels especially long this time around for some reason.
at the very least, just like a little low key positive detail, no big deal, but “Appreciation” is one of the best songs i’ve ever heard in my entire fucking life but like it’s chill
THANK YOU HONEY FOR REMINDING ME HOW LONG YOU CAN STAY WITH SOMEONE AND NEVER SEE is one of the best opening lines to a song ever, it just HOOKS YOU GODDAMN IN
Integrity Blues was my first album cycle with Jimmy Eat World. I am happy to be on this train now for good. Gimme that new album!
