Saw the news about the Warped Tour ending in 2018 and I was sad cause I've never been. I then got talking to a friend about going to a rock festival again here in the UK. Checked out the Slam Dunk festival line-up to see if they've got anything good and they literally just announced Jimmy Eat World as a headliner. I'm fucking ecstatic. Love this band and first time I'll be seeing them live.

Slam Dunk is so much fun. Def go to the after party. Last years was the first one I missed due to moving to the States. And for the ticket price, you can't beat it

Listening to all of these albums again for the bracket has reawakened my hate for all the people who think Clarity was their last good album.

 

Is that an actual group of people? I don't think I've ever seen that opinion

 

There is an amount of JEW fans that hold Clarity as their magnum opus and think that everything from Bleed American on is inferior yes.

 

On this site and within this scene pretty much no one thinks that, but mention Jimmy Eat World on a more general music site and you’ll definitely find people who think everything from Bleed American onwards is “lukewarm radio rock” and Clarity is their last good album. Which is of course, total fucking nonsense.

First off, I'd like to thank @BTDandFeelingThis for starting this bracket and running it through the first several albums! I'd also like to thank everyone for their participation throughout the bracket. There have been some good discussions in the past month or so and I hope you've all rediscovered some Jimmy Eat World songs that you may not have listened to in a while. I know I have!

To briefly recap the results for the Jimmy Eat World Brackets, here are the winners for each album:

The decision has been made to omit Anderson Mesa from the champions bracket. There was very little participation in the Static Prevails bracket and it's unlikely that Anderson Mesa would receive even a single vote in the champions bracket. So, Anderson Mesa, thank you for your service but you're not longer needed.

Before we get started, here are my plans for the champions bracket timeline:

Round 1: Thursday 11/16 10 AM EST - Friday 11/17 10 AM EST
Round 2: Friday 11/17 10 AM EST - Saturday 11/18 10 AM EST
Round 3 (Final Round): Saturday 11/18 10 AM EST - Monday 11/20 10 AM EST

I'd hate to end the bracket on a weekend and since it's the final, let's keep it open for 2 full days. If the final round gets out of hand though, it may be called early due to a run rule.
