I re-read your Damage review and I liked that you put particular emphasis both on that song and the arc of the record as an "adult breakup album". I feel like Chase This Light also follows a similar arc.

Damage has gotta be their most underrated album. It's one of my favorites, I especially love that stretch from I Will Steal You Back to No, Never.

I didn't know Step One was even a song. Holy shit this is a good track. JEW always has the best bonus songs.

I didn't know about it either! I'm excited for a new JEW song now.

The full band version of "You Were Good" is also a great bonus track. They don't take anything away from the power of that song.

I also have a cover of Stop Whispering by Radiohead on my Damage as well! Have you all heard that?

Yes! I really like their version. It doesn't feel like a cover at all.

Damage never clicked with me. Gonna try and listen tonight to see if maybe that'll change.

Had no idea there was a full band version I'm You Were Good out there. Also, Please Say No is arguably the best song on Damage next to Appreciation.

Damage is absolutely fantastic. It's a record about love and heartbreak for grown ups.

This is me like every 8 months. I get on a JEW kick and fall in love all over again. This band means SO much to me and remind me that music is powerful and means something to everyone.

Damage came out about 3 months before my girlfriend of 4 years and I broke up. We were both falling out of love and it was become more and more apparent. Nearly every song said exactly how I was feeling and thinking.

Yeah my fiancé had recently called off our engagement nine days before the wedding shortly before Damage came out. That record hit me and understood what I was feeling.

I ended up marrying the same girl a little bit later on, but Danage still connects with me so much. I think it's definitely their most underrated or overlooked.

JEW is incredibly with how they have aged over their career. Their lyrics always fit their age, and they progress musically but always still sounds like JEW. Easily in my top five of all time.

Damage has a few songs I really like, but I definitely view it as a letdown compared to the 5 albums that preceded it. I have a feeling I'll like the next one more.

I'm listening to Damage right now and I really love this record, probably my third of theirs favorite overall tbh.

Don't know what to say about Damage really. I don't see it as a letdown, nor is it one of my favorite JEW records. It's a solid album that for some reason I don't listen to enough.

To me, Damage is a good, but not great, record, which is absolutely fine by me. I have plenty of albums I love from this band. I may not commonly listen to Damage, but it gets play every once in a while and I enjoy it every single time.

Appreciation might honestly be my favorite opener of theirs at this point. That song has been on constant rotation for me the last few days. Though honestly it's hard to say because all of their openers are stellar.

Probably top five favorite reviews I've ever done, even still. That one was special for me. I don't hear quite as much of an arc on Chase This Light, but some of those songs are definitely among the most crushing breakup songs ever. "Dizzy" especially.
