That's why I like brackets, it gets me to listen to a band's discography gradually so it doesn't get overwhelming.
I only know futures and chase this light all the way through, and of course the singles. I'll do what I can lol
My only problem with playing along with a bracket is I really have to pay attention to the songs, and usually I just vote at work where that's a little harder.
This is the first bracket that I'm actually interested in doing! I probably won't do anything pre-Clarity because i am not familiar with anything before that album but other than that i'll try to keep up with it.
Before we get this underway, I would like to thank everyone for attending and participating in this. These bracket games are for pure fun, and keep in mind these are everyone's opinions. Be respectful. Everyone, welcome to: JIMMY EAT WORLD FACE OFF This will be NCAA style matches, with randomly generated brackets for each album facing off to decide which is the winner of each album. At the end of all of the albums, we'll do a finale Champions Bracket to decide the best overall JEW song! Rules: 1. Voting will take place over 10-24 hour period, depending on How close the matches are(if there's a wide margin too far to beat the round may be run ruled to not waste time), and as well as average votes and participation. 2. You must vote on every match in a round. If you don't your other votes don't count. Jut reply to this thread with your choices. I will not vote unless there is a tie needed to be broken. 3. PLEASE Feel free to discuss why you chose one song over the other and why you like that song. It's what helps keeps these fun and not just pages of song titles. Not required though, this isn't college and I ain't yo teacher. 4. I avoid byes into rounds if I can, but sometimes it's necessary. These are randomly generated I do not pick them. 5. Once your votes are counted, signified by me 'liking' your post, there are no vote changes. Choose wisely before posting! 6. The King John Rule: Only participate if you've heard these songs. You are welcome to look them up and listen before hand, but if there's evidence you haven't heard them before or you're just voting to help/hurt a song your votes will not count. And with that, let's begin! We will start with Static Prevails and work our way to Integrity Blues Vote to advance your favorites on to the next round! Ooof...Static Prevails. This may start off with a whimper. Caveman Thinking Episode IV Anderson Call it Robot
Yeah, but gotta start with it lol. Luckily it’ll be the one that gets hurt by the weekend and we’ll most likely be at The good stuff by Monday
Caveman Thinking, That’s All Episode IV Anderson Mesa Call It In The Air In The Same Room I just listened to this album for the first time in probably 15 years...if I’m being honest I’m pretty indifferent to most of the songs.
Ditto. I almost wanted to skip this album too but I didn’t skip any albums on other brackets I didn’t want to skip 2 for this one
I'm not participating in this record. I don't listen to this record, and have no interest in re-listening. So don't wait for my votes, they're not coming haha. Jimmy Eat World starts at Clarity!
May have a hard time getting any votes on this. I had to YouTube each song just to remember what they sounded like. Honestly only remembered like 3 of them.
Who was the dude in this thread a while back arguing that this is every real fan's favorite album? That was hilarious
I was going to suggest starting with their newest albums and going backward to initially ignore the awkward first 2 albums that no one listens to. But I was too late.
