First time I saw JEW live was during the CTL album cycle. Paramore was touring RIOT! and opened for them. Was an amazing show. Would be awesome to see them do a ten-year tour for it.
Anyone have a this? I've been looking to hear these tracks for years. Today's anniversary reminded me to look again. No dice. Jimmy Eat World - Chase This Light Tour -Manchester Academy 20/02/2008
I've got the files in my iTunes. Think I downloaded them from the leak thread on AbsolutePunk back in the day. Want me to upload?
Concert Live This site has all 3 versions (re-release) - the shipping takes a while to the States, but it's well worth it! The three CDs are listed apart from each other, but the cover art makes it pretty easy to find.
If we are talking CTL, gotta show the Tempe Sessions! I think Electable is underrated and the lyrics seem even more poignant now in this political climate.
I just listened to both alt versions of these for the first time. That's a hard "no" from me on both. Give me the originals. The somber tone of the album version of YWG is what makes it for me. Imaging closing the album out with that weird, "around the campfire", drumming.
Buuuummmer. makes sense though...they toured the shit out of IB since the release and probably need a break. But a few special anniversary shows would be nice.
I'd check out a CTL tour show for sure... but... I'd rather they get back into the studio sooner rather than later :)
I'm not surprised they're not doing any CTL shows, because the album really wasn't as immediately beloved as their previous three at release and still doesn't get fully the credit that it deserves from a lot of people, but I'm still a little bummed. I guess I had a tiny glimmer of hope they'd do some shows for it.
I kind of feel like this is the thing bands don't like about 10-year tours. If they do it for one album, there's an expectation that they'll do it for every other album. It would have been fun (especially since I ended up missing the Futures tour), but if they don't feel inspired to do it, I'm cool with that.
I really feel like artists should do them for important albums in their discography that were landmark albums for their careers or are fan/band favorites. Clarity and Futures getting the ten-year tour treatment I totally understand. CTL, as great as it is, not so much.
For sure. The ones they did made total sense but like there's no way there will ever be an Invented 10 year tour
Yeah, I'd agree with that, unless artists want to do them for albums that weren't technically landmarks. Like, CTL is kind of borderline, because a lot of fans love it, but it's not generally heralded in the same way that those two are. But I didn't expect one for CTL, and don't begrudge the band for not doing one.
CTL and EIIKM are the two albums that got way too much hate when they released. Glad hindsight has been kinder to them
I must’ve missed all the hate CLT got when it came out. I’m pretty sure I was active on punkdisaster at the time which was a huge JEW fan base I remember correctly. I’ve always thought it was well recieved. I’ll never forget my friend giving me a burned copy of the leaked demos before the album came out. I was hooked.
