Kinda wild that in a few weeks I'm gonna see them for the 3rd time this album cycle, and that I had 4 chances to see them this album cycle. Artists rarely come around here once let alone multiple times. I know touring is like the only way to make money now but they must be exhausted af. I could never tour that relentlessly and be away from home so much. These are the thoughts I'm thinking during my Friday night lol.
They've only come to Mass once with the Incubus tour. I am really hoping for a proper headlining show.
I guess I'm counting the entire pnw instead of one state, but it still seems like a lot! They came in December, April I think, August w incubus, and now again in September. I'm not complaining cause like I said lots of artists skip the pacific northwest entirely so I'll take what I can get lol, but I'm sure it's exhausting for them cause it seems almost nonstop!
They played Portland, ME back in May but I had my own show down in Providence that night so I couldn't make it. Hopefully they book something soon! I haven't seen them live since the Clarity Tour in 2009.
I saw them in Portland in December, and I'm so tempted to drive down to Eugene to see them on the 29th. It's so far away...but they're sooo good.
I went to the December PDX show too and one in Spokane in the spring and I'm going to the Boise show in a few weeks. They're all equally fairly far from me but you gotta do what you gotta do lol
I did the 12 hour drive to Boise last year for a Brand New show. No way am I doing that again. 4-5 hours from Seattle to Eugene is much more reasonable.
Omg yeah that's ridiculous! I'm about equal distance from all the major cities that have shows in the pnw give or take an hour or so but driving 3-5 hours for every show sucks lol so I'm excited about the Boise show cause it's on a weekend and I can get a hotel without the dreaded driving back that night experience
Yeah, I can't really complain about Seattle because bands going through the area will typically have at least one show here or in Portland. Just those silly b-market tours that only hit Boise drive me insane. Or Spokane. Really anywhere east of the Cascades is terrifying to me.
For whatever reason a lot of the artists I listen to avoid the pnw entirely so that's a bummer. I also notice a lot of artists just go to Seattle and skip pdx which kills me cause Seattle is like a 5 hour drive for me, whereas pdx, spokane or boise is like 3 hours. I often have to drive to a show after work and then drive back home that night to work the next day, so if something is in Seattle or Eugene I can't do it unless it's a weekend cause it's just too far. I got my sis tickets for the Harry Styles show next summer in Seattle tho and I'm excited cause I love Seattle but rarely get to go for the above reason!
I love Seattle, but I agree with artists skipping the PNW completely. It seems like a lot of tours this year announced several CA dates and no OR or WA dates, which is frustrating.
I'm petty and whenever I see a tour that has like 5 California dates and Californians are still complaining about it I'm like SHUT UP. I mean it is a long state and all so things can be spread out, but I still got no time for that nonsense!!! Pretty much all my faves skip the pnw and play tons of shows in CA so I'm just full of jealousy and pettyness lmao
SAME. LA, San Diego, San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and others get dates but no cities in the NW do? Californians don't have room at all to complain. Plus, insert petty Seattle remark about how Californians are ruining the city. I empathize!
lol I frequently complain when an artist chooses to just play LA instead of San Diego but I guess I should feel for all you
tbh I feel the most when artists go on "world tours" which means like Europe lmao and fans in other countries are always paid dust. Like has Taylor Swift ever even played a show in Latin America yet?? I guess it could always be worse lol
Surprisingly i've been noticing a lot of bands I like do not come play in San Diego either. Always LA or Anaheim area though. If they do play in San Diego....its at a giant festival where tickets are so expensive and they count that show as their SD date on their tour. Skipping out on the PCNW is awful though. Especially the WA area. That place rules.
I'm lucky to live in Anaheim. Can't make it to the show this week, but the Californian in me has already gotten two headlining shows from this cycle so I'm thankful.
Jimmy Eat World Setlist at The Majestic Ventura Theater, Ventura What a setlist. Wow. Really wish they were headlining in Boston soon!
They played 26 last time I saw them in January. I think it's a better set than this Ventura show, but opening with Pass the Baby is so tight. Bummed I'll be missing them tonight. This was their set in January: Jimmy Eat World Setlist at The Observatory, Santa Ana
