Listened to Futures the other day and was thinking about how well it holds up. A lot of my favorite albums came out in the early 2000's, but it they came out today I probably wouldn't like them as much. If Futures came out today I can gauruntee I would still love it. Same goes for CTL, Invented, etc Timeless band.
I like it! I also really enjoy Jim's new acoustic take on "For Me This Is Heaven" from the iTunes session.
The original has grown on me (I always used to skip it when Bleed American first came out) but I think this version is better. I think I might actually prefer the full band version of You Were Good as well.
I had no idea there was a full band version of You Were Good. I think I like it more than the album version (maybe not as a closer though...). The lo fi acoustic version never really worked for me.
Does anyone have the full-band version of "You Were Good"? Also, does anyone have "Step One," "When I Want," "Shame," "Distraction," and "Work (Acoustic)"? I would be forever grateful
I've been a bit emotionally unstable this week, but man, Jimmy Eat World has helped a lot! It's the ONLY band I've been listening to since Sunday (well, some The Cure too). I've been a JEW fan for almost four years now but this week they've been better than ever. Almost every song speaks to me in some way. I've even discovered how good Invented is and I didn't think that would happen. Also, I neeeed the new album now! And while I'm at it. I actually prefer Get Right to Sure and Certain. The part when the bridge goes into the last chorus is amazing. "Maybe I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm, OH! OH!". My god.
I'm finding myself really enjoying their debut this week. I wish they remastered and rereleased it. Ideally it would be remixed completely but that would never happen.
This part pumps me up so much every time. I love that song. I think both pre-release tracks from this have been perfect. I'm curious to see which one they choose next.
Am I right in thinking that You Are Free is the first time they've used a pre-chorus since the CTL album?
Anyone seen this?: JIMMY EAT WORLD comes to Looney Tunes! | Looney Tunes In-store acoustic performance where the Sure and Certain + My Enemy vinyl will be given away for free on the 28th Sept.
I just hope there's another way to get the vinyl. So far it seems to be the only way to get the My Enemy bside
I've got the vinyl preordered on Amazon, but the item is no longer on the site. My order is still open though.
I found it on Ebay, listing claims to have 4 copies that'll ship at any time. Wonder if it's legit or not
