i like Static more than Damage and CTL, a lot of it comes from nostalgia but anyway all wedding dances should be to the tune of "Episode IV"
Both Craigs have a bone to pick for this. Futures is the best Jimmy Eat World album although it is very close between that, Chase This Light, Clarity and Bleed American.
I think the only ones even close to Futures are Clarity and Chase This Light, and even still, not really. Chase This Light would be pretty close for me if it didn't dip so much in the mid-section. Futures demolishes Invented, though, and I like Invented a lot. But we've already had this talk @CoffeeEyes17. Still love you bud.
With the exception of Clarity and Bleed, I think each release is better than the last for this band. So like, Damage > Invented > Chase This Light > Futures > Clarity > Bleed American Have full faith in the band to keep getting better too.
Jimmy Eat World and Yellowcard both have discography's that I can't rank except for Static and One for the Kids, they are both worse than the respective catalogues. There is something pretty magical/impressive about that - can't think of any other bands that have that affect on me, at all.
Maybe I misunderstood (or misread) earlier but for me, no question about it that Futures is their best. Then again, it's like picking the greatest Yankee players ever - so many consistent choices b/c JEW doesn't ever disappoint or bat below .300.
Gave Chase This Light a spin for the first time in awhile last night. Was reminded how good of a song "Be Sensible" is.
Boss just put on Chase This Light at work. Praise be. Trying to not to drum on my desk to Big Casino too hard.
They're on a Joe Dimaggio-esque hitting streak right now. 56 straight games vs. 6 straight dope albums
Clarity Chase This Light Futures Bleed American Invented Damage I rank things :)... I love invented, like others have said, when talking about JEWs catalog, even the "lesser-favorites" are still phenomenal records that surpass a lot of their peers records (IMO). Damage however, I still havnt gained a huge love for.
My favorite alternates between Bleed American and Futures. I've been hooked on Static Prevails for the past year or so, though. Love the vocal melodies and raw production on that record. "Call It In The Air" is one of their best songs.
I'm not huge on Static Prevails. I like it, but I definitely think Seventeen and Episode IV are fantastic songs.
