Oh shit, I forgot about the iTunes session. I have the We Are Never Getting Back Together cover I listen to sometimes from it. I'll have to listen to the whole thing again since I don't remember the rest of it that well. If it's shorter though, I'll probably like it.
well, that was one of the worst jimmy gigs ive ever been to. sound was terrible and no 23? always awesome to see them though and they do give it their all so i enjoyed it
1:30 seconds of 'You Are Free' live - https://youtu.be/jrXhDYHjIQk Looks like Robin Vining is on tour with them again - I wonder why they haven't just added him to the lineup.
I havent been able to get Sure & Certain out of my head all week. Such a simple song but that chorus is so catchy. I was really disappointed with Damage but the two songs released so far for Integrity Blues have been really promising.
"Waiting for attention, I'm not Cut it to the left and I rock Need an invitation, I don't Slide it to the right and I roll" JESUS, so catchy.
Islington Assembly? Sound seemed fine to me. Although, I'd had a few drinks by the time they came onstage, so no doubt I had drunk ears by then. With you on the lack of "23." No "Goodbye Sky Harbour" either.
yeah. maybe it was where i was stood (front and near the centre). just seemed there was way too much reverb in the room drowning out all the guitars. no 23 was completely baffling.
Listening to invented again and damn Jim sounds so good on heart. One of his best vocal performances IMO
I've always been so-so on Invented, but it's finally starting to click with me now. I think I can relate to some of the lyrics now a bit better than I could when it came out. I'm interested to hear any interpretations of what the lyrics on "Higher Devotion" are about. I'm trying to figure out if they're sarcastic or not. Sarcastic might not be the right word... basically, I'm trying to figure out if you're supposed to take them at face value and if the perspective of the narrator is supposed to be relatable, or if you're supposed to understand the song as more or less condemning the narrator. I hope that makes sense.
I've been saying this forever; you have no idea just how happy seeing someone else realize this makes me. haha
TIL Hayley Williams is a bigger fan of JEW than I thought She's covered them multiple times and has even performed with them on stage. Awesome!
They toured together yearssss ago (I was there), and their debut album was full of JEW influence. It's one of the reasons I ever checked them out to begin with.
I was waiting for that song to hit the radio and become a crossover hit. I thought it would happen for sure.
