I never said you guys are wrong to dislike SP. I was commenting on this community as a whole having a general negativity towards SP and I just wanted to see that people knew that that wasn't a universal thing... that lots of people do love SP and it is worth investing time into that album.
As with any discussion that turns into an argument, it took more than just me to escalate this. It took people disagreeing with me. Then eventually it got circular. I've made my point now anyways.
none of us have been negative towards the album a lot of us, and this goes for every JEW fan ive ever talked to on here RYM Sputnik etc, just prefer Clarity onwards. Damage is seen by many as a big comeback, Invented probably gets the most hate of the last 6, and Clarity/Futures receive the most praise easily.
I'm not going to go digging for examples but I've definitely got a strong impression that a lot of people don't even consider it worthy of being in the discussion when talking about favourite JEW albums, and they say it with a credence that implies that the albums unworthiness is an obvious, somewhat universal truth. Just wanted to present the other side.
literally no one has said this and many of us enjoy the album a lot. kindve hard to argue when people have more emotional attachment to the other records. im sorry, but at this point youre just being condescending for no reason.
That's a good flip side actually. Though I tend to be in the minority here in loving Static, I'm usually in the minority everywhere else for loving Damage. It's really refreshing seeing people sing Damage's praises here. I think the album truly deserves it and a lot of other communities just don't engage in positive conversations about that album. Almost to the point where I felt I was alone in loving it and it's good to see that I'm not, just by being on this board.
Let's all just let it go. We all like JEW, some just like certain albums more than others. And that's ok. I'm sure and certain of it.
Do you want me to go looking for examples or shall we just move on from this? I'm sorry but I got an impression from reading this board and I spoke about it. There must have been something that sparked that impression in me.
Thanks. I'm sorry people didn't like what I had to say and thought I was condescending. Maybe it came across that way but it wasn't my intention. I'm just passionate about this band as we all are.
Does anyone have decent quality JEW b-sides? I think I saw it mentioned awhile ago, but forgot to ask for them.
Loads can be bought on iTunes but it depends on where you're from. The US I think doesn't get great access to B-sides but I might be wrong. I shouldn't really share stuff that can easily be bought but plenty can't so could share some. This is what I have on my current laptop: Have a load more sessions and live soundboard recordings on a hard drive somewhere but I'd have to dig around for it. Edit: don't know why it's displaying each image duplicated side-by-side. Edit2: I realised that's also not including split EPs and Go Big Casino stuff but I have those too.
This list seems good, I'll probably look around for whatever's on iTunes and then go from there. Thank you!
