I think the bridge is my favourite part of this song and I hope they explore more sounds like that on the album.
I think My Best Theory was a phenomenal single for Invented, and possibly the catchiest hook on the album. But I also think Coffee and Cigarettes is one of the worst JEW songs in their discography. Also loved I Will steal you back. I don't think Damages had much - if any - singles power to it.
Definitly hits me harder on an emotional level than Get Right. "If you keep going on like this, I'll be one more thing for you to miss." ouch
This song is good and I'm stoked for the album. I'm always the most excited to hear the closer to any new JEW album though, so I'm especially looking forward to that.
Why? Like ncarrab said it's one of the catchiest hooks on the album (I'd say the catchiest) and I think it's one of the best songs on there too.
I liked My Best Theory as a single, but maybe not as a first single. I don't think it served as a good representation of what that album would be like. Don't get me wrong, it fits in on the album, but it's got more of a bite to it than a lot of other songs do on the album. I think Movielike would have made for a great first single.
I think they made the correct choice for lead off single on Damage and Invented. "Big Casino" was a great choice as well, except I might have gone with "Here It Goes" instead.
Yea, that's pretty much exactly my thoughts. It's a decent song, but not a great single. Kind of like how "Bleed American" was the first single off that album and a bad representation of the song, later eclipsed by "The Middle" and "Sweetness."
This song is so damn good. Was pretty lukewarm toward Get Right but this one gave me chills. Can't wait for the album.
It's not the best representation of the album but I still think its the best choice for first single on there. Whereas on BA those other two are clearly better single choices.
Love the diversity between this and Get Right. Can't wait for the album! Need artwork and a tracklisting.
I think "My Best Theory" was an odd choice for lead single, but I also don't really know what else they would have chosen.
I don't think they've had any good choices for singles since Always Be. Before now, that is. Edit: Had any good choices, not made any good choices. As in I don't think there have been any great options available to them as singles on their last 3 albums.
For some reason the way Jim sings the verses reminds me of Charlie's original Nightman song in that one episode of It's Always Sunny haha
I mentioned earlier that Jimmy Eat World is the musical version of happiness. 'Sunny' is the television version of happiness lol. I'm 100% on board with this comparison.
Now imagine living in central Canada, where the last Jimmy Eat World radio single was.. pfft I dunno, I think I heard Work a few times?
