Agreed. It doesn't come across as "woah this is really heavy." It sounds like a JEW song to me. No heavier than the heaviest tracks off Futures or Invented. It's pretty tame I think.. just a little darker in mood than the last record but nothing strange for JEW imo.
I don't think anyone's saying it's heavy, it's just not as bright or acoustically-driven as most of their recent output. And the production is a lot more full and punchy than any of their recent output. I think the point was that this is more on the "rock" end of the spectrum than the "soft" end, so maybe the next track would be on the softer side. I think the next song is going to rock out but really I'm not sure. Either way, "Sure and Certain" is almost a worse title than "Integrity Blues", but as long as the music is good I don't care what it's called.
we've got a good two and a half hours left. Listening to KROQ to kill some time while I play the Battlefield 1 beta haha
Tuesday, August 30th (6A) Henry Winkler re: Better Late Than Never (7A) Petros Papadakis In Studio re: USC vs. Alabama/Bachelor In Paradise (8A) Jimmy Eat World’s Jim Adkins In Studio re: “Sure and Certain” World Premiere (9A) Felipe Esparza In Studio re: Brea Improv Show I think it's in this hour, but I'm an idiot and didn't account for the fact that I think KROQ is California based.
All platforms I believe! Codes are rolling out in phases to people who signed up through Battlefield Insider.
Ah I didn't sign up. Well, have a good time! I get to pass the time just browsing the internet aimlessly for 2 and a half hours while the computing servers at work are offline for maintainance. Fun stuff.
They just said on Kevin and Bean that they had to bump up the guest scheduling, "guests will be at 7:30 instead of 8". nice!
Did they mention Jim specifically? Because according to the schedule there were other guests meant to be on before Jim.
they didn't mention Jim specifically, oddly enough. They mentioned the 8am slot which is for Jim so I'd assume we are getting it earlier? I'm not entirely sure though
Jeez there are a lot of annoying adverts on this station. And they just repeat the phone number over and over and over! So many adverts. Is this normal for US radio?
Yep American radio is a hive of repetitious commercials. Also here in the south, local radio is kind of monopolized so radio stations play some of the most racist and homophobic ads I've ever heard and no one really stops them.
Well, Get Right was up on their site before the song even premiered on the radio. Hoping that occurs here too.
I can't get any work done right now just anticipating this song. Im listening on Radio.com. Anyone have any advice to find a higher quality stream or improve the stream on that site? I didn't like Get Right at first and then realised it was all because the stream on BBC Radio 1 wasn't great.
