Really? I just thought it was OK. Reminded me of when they released "My Best Theory", which just left me curious as to what the rest of the album would sound like.
"My Best Theory" was great. This band has always killed lead off singles since I've been following them (pre CTL).
I am very curious how the single will sound. I feel like they'd want it to be pretty different from "Get Right," so they might steer away from a heavier track and try to represent a different aspect of the record. I'm game for anything though.
I don't think it'll be anything like that, haha. I meant more along the lines of Damage or I Will Steal You Back. I still think it'll sound like a single but I just don't think it'll be as in your face as Get Right.
Am I missing something with Get Right? I hear a darker and more plodding JEW than I'm used to and I don't mind it, but I certainly wouldn't classify it as either heavy or in your face. They can and have done heavier and more in your face, and I'd be all for it.
Yeah I can definitely hear that after listening again. I suppose it's more of a throbbing beat. Feels low energy to me, for JEW.
There's also a cover on Stay On My Side Tonight that has it, but yeah. I believe it's the only JEW song that really swears at all.
I have never really listened to Stay On My Side Tonight... Fixing that now. Disintegration is amazing.
I'm kind of jealous that you got to experience that song for the first time today. It's one of their best. I absolutely lost it when I saw them play it live.
I'm surprised they haven't said anything about the KROQ premiere tomorrow. Huh Maybe they're trying to surprise everyone?
It's been way too long since I've listened to these guys. Been going back through their albums all day. Unbelievable band
How is this band so good? Every time I listen to an album I like it even more, and I started by liking them a good bit.
Segment starts at 8:00 a.m. Pacific? At least that's what it looks like on the KROQ website. Gonna have to set a reminder for myself to tune in at 11:00 eastern. I'll be at work but, hey, JEW > Remaining Employed.
