Same. I got into them when they were announced as support for the Pop Disaster tour. I can't remember if that was before or right after Bleed American came out. Probably right after. But I am pretty sure the first song I heard was For Me This Is Heaven.
Jimmy Eat World were one of the first bands I ever liked after getting into music in 2007. "Always Be" was released as a single in early 2008 in the UK and I saw the music video on TV. I absolutely loved the song and immediately went and bought Chase This Light.
Jimmy Eat World was also one of the first bands to really get me into music. Chase This Light was my first album from them in 2008, then Futures, then the rest is history.
I'm probably on the younger side of the users here (I'm hitting 18 in April), but my mom would always drive me around and one of the first songs I can actually remember hearing were the Middle and I Miss You by blink. Mom would play Bleed American a lot in the car so JEW has always stuck with me. Weird how that band is so consistent that their music is starting to span across different generations. Love this band a lot.
So, when I have Invented a spin, I completely stopped when I got to Mixtape, as that's technically the closing track (right?). Any way, I have the "deluxe" version downloaded through Apple Music and my phone set to shuffle on the Bluetooth in my van. You and I came up on my way home from church tonight and I fell in love with it. So good. Edit: Aaaaaand it's a Wilco song.
My dad doesn't like any music I like... But the other day I was playing Bleed American and he was like "I like this band".
How can someone not like "The Authority Song"? I mean, hell, even daddies like it. Right, @Kevin360 ?
My uncle and my boss both really dig this band, my uncle called JEW "the Iron Maiden of modern rock" because of how consistent they are and how much material they have.
Anthony Ronald McDonald doesn't like Get Right (to no surprise ) WHY DOES IT SAY RONALD MCDONALD INSTEAD OF F ANTANO IS THIS AN INSIDE JOKE ON THE FORUM Edit: he hates the new American Football song too. No surprise there
He is not liked by most to all here. His fanbase is more pitchfork from what I understand. He can be especially frustrating whenever he reviews types of music that he simply is not a fan of. Like, once he reviewed Dance Gavin Dance and started the review like "I don't like this genre of music" and then gave it a 2/10. I imagine JEW isn't really his type of music either.
So the super entitled, not-fun-at-parties, negative karma Reddit troll type dudes? Got it. Ive been on the fence about liking him and then realized I don't. On a lighter note, I get my paycheck tomorrow so I am ready for any preorder bundles the band wants to throw my way
