I found this: Futures Demos Now, this definitely isn't the track list that the Trombino Sessions had when they first leaked in 2006. Sparkle was definitely on there, for example, and You shouldn't be on there. I've downloaded this and I'm fairly sure this version of You was recorded with Gil Norton, not Mark Trombino. But anyways, this version of Big Cars is a little better (louder, for a start) than what I have. I'm pretty sure what I have is the original that I downloaded in 2005, or at least a converted derivative of that. Edit: Actually, mine has a version of Lying Dressed (Closer) that was cleaned up by somebody else on the Jimmy Eat World message board, because the original had glitches all over it. The version on that site I linked has the original glitches in it. Some of these do sound slightly higher quality than what I have on my computer though. Anyone have any other resources online for the Trombino demos? That place is missing a bunch of the CTL and Bleed demos too.
I actually stumbled upon a huge library of their B-sides and demos by accident a few months back. I've got them for BA, Futures, CTL, and Invented if anyone's interested. Includes studio & demo version of You and the studio version of Anais
I know it was mentioned recently, but I am rewatching the Believe In What You Want DVD. I highly recommend it. At the very least, watch the clip where they play Trombino's 80's version of the bridge to the Middle.
I would be extremely interested in this if you are willing to share, please and thank you. These guys are definitely a band where I try to get my hands on absolutely everything by them that I can. * Sorry, this was directed at Onlyadirector's comment about b-sides and demos - apparently I haven't quite figured out how to do the quote on my phone.
Enjoyed Damage the first listen but it's really sinking in for me properly after this thread inspired some re-listening. I have to skip Byebyelove though, does nothing for me unfortunately. I do appreciate the dynamic of its big crescendo at the end into the quiet closer, but it's just not for me.
The glitches in the Lying Dressed demo have always bugged the heck out of me. If there's any way you could share the cleaned-up version that you have, I'd be really thankful!
Working on organizing it into proper folders. Will link ASAP! For Futures I have: Sparkle, When I Want, You, Work (acoustic), The Concept, Shame, and You (Demo). CTL: Open Bar Reception, Distraction, Be Sensible, Beautiful Is, and a low quality acoustic recording of Always Be Invented: Anais (Studio version) Damage: Step One Have to run quick errand, give me an hour and a half guys!
if anyone has the Orange Lounge sessions from the early 2010s then I would totally appreciate that. I had them long ago but lost them with a hard drive failure. Not the Orangewood Sessions, that's something different. The Orange Lounge sessions has a good updated and cleaner take on Thinking, That's All.
People seem to always rag on "Jen" but i think its such a fun song. also helps that it was one my "Futures" burn CD that i had when i was a kid, so ive been listening to it forever. the bridge is so much fun.
Yeah I like "Jen" a lot. It has no place on Futures, but yeah like you said, it's a fun little ditty.
This gets talked about a ton, but this band has so many great b-sides and rarities that you could make an album as strong, if not better than, some of their albums.
I'd love the link too if it's not much trouble!! So I'm loving all the Damage love lately. As I've said before that album is insanely important to me and means so much that I'll always have a super intense attachment to it. After a few days of solid listening to the entire discography, my list has changed quite a bit.... Clarity=Damage Chase This Light Invented Bleed American = Futures Static Prevails Yeah I cheated and couldn't decide between some... Really thanks to @KennedyBN Invented is moving up pretty quickly.
put a smile on my face! Straight up, Damage has pretty much gotten better and better with every listen since you made the post a while ago about why its so important to you. it just kind of made me go "whoa, thats heavy, i need to listen to that album with people having those kind of experiences in mind"... then that post from @minty901 just got me even more stoked on it today. its weird, i feel like im hearing things i dont know why never clicked until the last few weeks with that album. but now im listening and im confused i was so "meh" on it. i always liked it, but i would say i love it after these past couple weeks.
