only song i don't completely fuck with on ctl is "electable". i even love "firefight", which most people seem to dislike.

picking the catchiest jimmy eat world song is like picking the heaviest isis song; good fucking luck pal

Electable and firefight are the two weakest tracks IMO. Would have rather seen Open Bar Reception take firefight's spot. Electable is fun and high energy enough to not be skippable.

Haha, yeah. Isis has several levels and flavors of heavy in their music. You think they're crushing it and then they blast into Mach 2 and break the sound barrier

chase this light, to me, has zero weak tracks. i think it's by far their most consistent album front to back.

i think its more consistent than futures although obviously they're both about the same. i just think there's a bit of a dip in quality from drugs or me through nothing wrong, even if all three of those songs are very good they dont live up to the rest of the record. obviously this is highly debatable.

those are good but "futures" just kind of has this certain weight to it because its nice and mid tempo but still huge

He's fantastic and there's plenty of other good progressively-written metal on Hydra Head records.

I see Baroness on a similar plane of creativity, John Dyer Baizley is my favorite metal vocalist and their drummer is ridiculous. Also draws all their artwork himself, their vinyl prints are gorgeous.

i think those three songs are all super important in cementing the mood and theme of the record, and also do a great job of setting up "23".
