Wow. This album knocked me over. I knew I would like it but as others have mentioned the last couple took a little while to grow on me. This just clicked right away. I’m so happy right now.
The new album is really great! I like that's a guitar driven record! Jimmy Eat World is one of the most consistent bands.
Honestly, most JEW albums for me are not immediate. Futures is one of my all-time favorite albums and I remember not liking it for weeks before it all of a sudden hit me like a ton of bricks. So for those who aren't into this yet, keep trying. That said, I haven't even listened myself. I got through the first 2 1/2 songs on my way to work. Don't want my first experience listening to this album being in my office so in a little bit I'm gonna go on a work errand and listen in my car.
I felt the same way. I think its just that I like the Futures-esque vibe on IB. Just more my cup of tea. That said, I do like some individual songs quite a bit (All the Way, Delivery, Recommit, 555, Love Never), but as an album as a whole, its just good, not great.
Wow, this record. They haven't sounded this unabashedly happy since CTL. The run of One Mil-->All the Way-->Diamond-->Love Never is pure cheesy goodness. And Congratulations, my lord.
i....don’t love ‘555’ like everyone else, but the rest of this is incredible. Can’t wait to go pick up the vinyl later.
I'm with you actually, I like the chorus but it sounds overproduced. I prefer how the live version sounds. I'm sure it'll grow on me and be my favorite in a month.
Starting my first listen now and the title track is amazing. Love the main riff and Zach’s drumming is great.
yeah i'm really loving this guitar-forward sound that seems to have been missing the last few albums, 'Diamond' would fit right in on Bleed American.
Man, I think this is their best since Futures. Absolutely loving this and it feels great to be loving a new Jimmy Eat World album as most of their recent stuff has been just "good" to me. Really happy with this.
Just finished my first listen. I definitely agree with people that it's a good length but wouldn't have minded two more songs. Overall, though, wow-- blew me the fuck away.
