Great job on both, man. It is amazing after 10 albums how their music can still align with one's life each and every time, mine included. I haven't even listened to it yet, but it feels like it's going to hit the spot, as usual. Looking forward to tomorrow.
Whoops, yes credit to Craig on both. Replied to the wrong post. Credit to Jason for, ya know, creating this site!
Can't disagree there! Once I returned to the site this year post-rebrand I had to put anberlin front and center since they helped bring me to AP back in the day.
I can't begin to express my appreciation for not only limiting pre-release tracks to 2/10, but releasing songs beyond the half-way point of the album. It made the album feel soooo fresh. Why in god's name would you release track 1 (menzingers) or the first couple sequential tracks (menzingers). Maybe i'm crazy.
do we know if there is an indie store variant? I'm gonna pick it up tomorrow regardless but am hoping to get something special/limited.
Been saying this for years. Releasing the opener as a single is just something I don’t like. Especially if the opener is only okay, because then I want to skip past it. Thanks! Going to read yours tomorrow. Didn’t want to read any other reviews until I was done with mine.
Very excited to dive into this tomorrow! Always have been a casual JEW fan, but always very excited whenever a new album drops!
man the lyrics to "Delivery" are that wistful thoughtful Adkins shit I need right now "don't worry where we end up, cos ending up's not real - the life we make we're constantly creating" = some of his best ever
On first listen, another super-consistent JEW album, might even be the best of their recent work. 555 and Recommit the early standouts for me.
it really does but I kinda need it to be made 10 years earlier so Edgar Wright could've put it in the Scott Pilgrim movie?
