I was disappointed in Damage when it came out, but I love it now. That being said, I still don’t care for the artwork. Love all the other albums covers though.
I always dug the Damage artwork. Probably took them about 20 minutes to make it but whatever, it's still rad in its own way. Favorite artwork is definitely Invented. All the photos including the cover on the vinyl packaging are top notch.
Damage rocks. "Appreciation" is a perfect Jimmy song, "Book of Love" is absolutely lovely, "Lean" is stuck in my head all the time, and "Byebyelove" is a cathartic dirge.
At this point I don’t know if people are calling it “Damages” just to mess with us or if they actually think that’s the title
I love the songs, the production and the artwork for Damage. My only quibbles with the album are that "Step One" should've been on it, and that I prefer the alternate version of "You Were Good". I randomly had "Damage" the song stuck in my head BIG TIME the other day and I had to go and listen to the whole album.
I think, looking back, that Damage is my favorite JEW album from this decade. I go back and forth between all three, but I think that one means the most to me.
After about three years and on the cusp of the new album's release, I think I can say that Integrity Blues takes the cake for me as far as JEW albums this decade. It could still be the newness of it all though, because I really can't believe that album has been out three years at this point. They are all phenomenal though.
Damage is wonderful. It occupies a space all on its own lyrically and sonically, all while still sounding unmistakably JEW.
one hundred percent. there's raw production that captures the stripped-down, live version of a band and enhances the music in the process (see: Foo Fighters' Wasting Light, first two Slipknot albums, etc.) and there's "raw" production that comes out a muddy mess and just interferes with the quality of the music - Damage is one of those for me, along with The Canyon and a whole shitload of others
Damage's cover art is great. Also, like all of JEW's albums, Damage is a great record. Something has to be my least favorite, though, so.
Fuck me I've wasted the day refreshing webpages and google searches hoping for a new single. Why are they doing this to us?
Exactly I’m glad I’m not the only one! No never tho... I enjoy to play an acoustic rendition of that if I don’t say so myself
