was kinda hoping my record would ship in time to arrive by friday but no luck yet sadly. I just want to wear my hoodie around on release day lol
it hasn't come yet :( i was just saying that I hope it comes friday (although i doubt it will lol) I'll update in here when it arrives with a softness report
I wish I hadn't already heard 6 and a half of the 10 songs in one form or another. It has dampened my excitement just a little bit. Not because the songs aren't good, just because I know there won't be as many surprises as there would have been if I had held off. But at least I've enjoyed the slow drip of new sounds over the last month so that's something.
Stuff doesn't tend to leak these days. If you look at the list of albums coming this Friday on kingdom-leaks, only a very small percentage have actually leaked as of now
everything leaks eventually just usuallt not until release week, this will probably be around tomorrow night or thursday morning
"everything leaks eventually" = "everything goes on sale eventually" or "everyone receives their preorders eventually"
well, sure - doesnt change the fact that it'll still be out there before most people would normally have access to it
NINE (blink-182) was the latest leak that I can remember and it happened at least a week before the release
Wouldn't be surprised if we get an exclusive album stream on Billboard or another media outlet tomorrow or Thursday.
I can’t think of the last time I saw an album stream like that. this thing will be “out there” in 48 hours
Pre-release streams are largely dead and it's bizarre. Seems so recent that everything was streaming a week ahead of release. NPR used to have 4-6 streams every Thursday morning. I think they've had about that many in total since July.
I would imagine that it's not as popular since streams through music services impact the charts now. They'd rather have those streams count toward sales these days.
Yeah, I'm sure that's the reason, but for a lot of the smaller artists, it's not a one-to-one thing. A lot of those NPR streams for 3-4 years there were up-and-coming country or Americana folks, who definitely got more attention for the high-profile stream placement than they were ever going to get being just another album showing up on Spotify on release day.
