Why would they? When was the last time a band that sounded anything like them had a hit? Rock bands don’t get played on pop radio anymore, and the radio rock format that allowed those Futures songs to be hits essentially doesn’t exist anymore. Not sure why they or any other band like them would spend too much energy chasing a hit in that context.
Someone on Reddit said 555 is available to buy on iTunes but haven't seen anyone else that's able to access it so far. Could be a single today.
Pretty gutted that they went on Hardwick’s podcast. Don’t really know how to feel right now. Good time to post this link I guess. Major TW for this. Rose-Colored Glasses: A Confession.
Yep. I have it. So far I'm not loving the production but I hope it grows on me like the live version did.
Im not saying they should "chase a hit". I was just curious why it was almost a certainty they wouldn't have one. I don't listen to the radio so i wouldn't know what is played on pop radio. It was an honest question.
What do you mean when you refer to "radio rock format that allowed those Future songs to be hits essentially doesn't exist anymore"?
hardwick is so embedded and reinforced in media (why does this particular talentless shithead have to have a career? idk) that it's hard to avoid him, and yeah i do not think the shit he did got enough publicity
Yeah idk. Unlike the Menzingers/Culture Abuse situation, the Hardwick allegations were pretty heavily covered for a while when they came out. His name was very publicly removed from the Nerdist website, he was removed from all of his shows on AMC while they “internally investigated” the allegations, and Chloe’s post itself was circulated pretty widely by some major publications.
I can tell you that I had no idea about any of this and I am glued to my phone so I’m gonna give them the benefit of the doubt lol
