I really enjoy A Praise Chorus and the concept, but they didn’t even write all the lyrics in your favourite Jimmy song.
The story is common So plain we pass by often All motion defeated By endless what-if questions Obvious, we own it Our anxious scars and bruises Heavy hands swing slowly With weight of our own choosing, now . . . We know but can’t believe It’s easy as it sounds We know but always told "If we let go, we drown"
But then you cited the concept as a negative . . . In any case, I’m on team “A Praise Chorus” is their best song. But “Dizzy” is also a very excellent song. The only song from Clarity on that I don’t really like is “Coffee & Cigarettes”.
I said I really enjoy the song and the concept. All very positive. The part about them not writing all the lyrics in the song is just a fact. Just pointing out the irony of having your favourite song (intentionally) featuring a bunch of other lyrics by other artists. One of my favourite bands Gaslight Anthem did this on Sink or Swim. There really is no negativity going on here. I can’t even decide which one Jimmy’s songs is my favourite (although I still don’t feel like I need to because there are so many good ones).
In hindsight, it’s kinda of weird Damage doesn’t have a long song on it to close the album. Looking forward to congratulations.
This one does actually make me dizzy, which Jimmy’s Dizzy doesn’t. Does that make it better? Are JEW guilty of false advertising? I will enter the coming week with a lot of questions that need answers.
